This village typical of the region with 830 inhabitants is located in the heart of the high Pyrenees, in the Aure valley, 60 km south east of Tarbes and 114 km from Toulouse. Arreau is a classified town with rich architectural treasures which knew how to retain its cultural and gastronomic traditions. Every shop and service is available locally. Arreau has many sports on offer in summer: hiking, riding, tennis, fishing, mountain biking and wild water sports. The village is also an ideal starting point for visiting well-known tourist places: Pic du Midi, Pyrenean National Park, Route des Cols, Cirque de Gavarnie, Lourdes and Spain. In winter, Arreau offers 4 ski stations which belong to the most important in the Pyrenees: St Lary Solan, Peyrades, Val Louron and Piau Engaly. These stations can be reached by car in 20-40 minutes.
